Southern California Event Venues Where Luxelle Has Set Up
Venues that photograph beautifully and where we've actually worked
Plenty of blogs list venues. This one only covers places where Luxelle has set up and run a full event: two weddings, a corporate mixer, a race-track activation, a brand pop-up, and a university reception. Different rooms, different guests, same question every time, where does the booth go so that it becomes the busiest spot in the room?
What we look for when we walk a venue
Before every event we scout placement with the planner or venue coordinator. What matters most:
A natural gathering point. Near the bar, along the path from dinner to the dance floor, beside a lounge where guests already linger. A booth guests have to seek out gets used less.
How the light changes. A patio that glows at 5 p.m. can be black by 8. Our softbox lighting handles the dark; what we plan for is how the backdrop reads as the ambient light shifts.
A level surface and nearby power. Both keep the setup discreet, no cable across a walkway, no rig on a slope.
Room for the line. A busy booth has one. Clear space in front keeps it from blocking the room.
Weddings
Ivy Manor. Temecula
A garden estate with lawns, mature trees, and string lighting overhead, the kind of place where the reception is outdoors and the night sky is part of the design. An after-dark garden reception is exactly what continuous softbox lighting is for: guests look like they're in a studio, while the greenery and string lights fall away softly behind them.
Saddlerock Ranch. Malibu
A working ranch in the Malibu hills, with vineyards, stone, and views for miles. It's one of the most photographed wedding properties in Southern California, and it rewards a booth that stays understated and lets the landscape do the talking.
Corporate events
Akash Winery. Temecula
Vineyard rows and open sky in Temecula wine country. We were there for a wellness mixer hosted by the Tri County Dental Hygienists Society, a professional crowd in a relaxed setting, where the booth has to feel polished without feeling like a party gimmick. Group portraits and clean, well-lit headshots do the work here.
K1 Speed. Corona
An indoor kart track: dark, loud, high-energy, and lit by neon. The opposite of a garden, and a good test of whether a booth can hold its own in a room that's already full of stimulation. Studio lighting is what makes portraits possible in a space this dark.
Brand activations and universities
The Americana at Brand. Glendale
An open-air shopping and dining destination with heavy foot traffic and a polished, retail-forward look. For a brand activation, placement is the whole story, the booth has to sit where people are already walking, not where there happens to be room.
UCLA. Los Angeles
A campus reception for an alumni recognition event: a formal crowd in an institutional setting, where the booth needs to read as dignified rather than festive. The right backdrop and a quiet, attended setup make it feel like part of the evening rather than an attraction at it.

We ask for a floor plan or a walkthrough, talk through the timeline with your planner, and recommend a placement and a backdrop that suit the room.
