Print Photo Booth or Digital Photo Booth: Which Is Right for Your Event?
The first decision
Before backdrops, before hours, before anything else, a photo booth comes down to one question: do guests leave with something in their hand, or something on their phone?
It sounds like a small choice. It isn't. It decides the camera, the lighting, whether there's an attendant, how the booth fits the timeline, what it costs, and, most of all, what people remember. Luxelle offers both, as two distinct collections, because neither is "better." They're built for different nights.
The print photo booth
A print booth is a portable portrait studio. Luxelle's version means a professional DSLR camera, continuous studio softbox lighting, an on-site attendant, and a full-service print station: continuous, hardwired dye-sublimation printing with instant dual-format output, so every guest receives both a classic 2×6 strip and a 4×6 studio portrait. Sessions are unlimited; each guest gets a print per session. Digital delivery comes too - a dedicated sharing station sends images to phones on the spot, and everything lands in a private online gallery.
What it's for: occasions where the keepsake is the point. Weddings. Galas. Quinceañera portraits with the court. Corporate recognition events. Anywhere a framed photo on a grandmother's shelf is the outcome you're after.
What it asks of the event: a placement with room for a line, power, and a slot in the timeline. It's attended for the full booking, which is what keeps the line moving and the prints flowing.
What guests do with it: come back three or four times over the night, with different groups each time, and tuck the prints into clutches and jacket pockets. Prints get kept. That's the whole argument.
The digital photo booth
A digital booth is built for sharing. Luxelle's SnapBliss collection is a sleek kiosk that captures photos and Boomerangs and delivers them straight to guests' phones by SMS or AirDrop, with a private online gallery afterward. It's 100% digital, with zero prints, deliberately. No printer, no paper, nothing to hand out, nothing to wait for.
What it's for: parties. Receptions once the dancing starts. Social mixers, birthdays, showers, pop-ups, and activations where the goal is content people post tonight, not a print they frame next month.
What it asks of the event: less. SnapBliss is available as an unattended drop-off kiosk for the length of the event, or as an attended experience with a professional and on-site prop styling. A Roamer add-on takes the booth onto the dance floor.
What guests do with it: capture, share, repeat. The photo is in a group chat before the song ends.

How to choose
Ask three questions:
Will anyone frame this? If yes, a wedding, a quince, a milestone, you want prints. Digital photos are seen once and scrolled past; prints stay on refrigerators for years.
Is the room formal or a party? Studio lighting and an attendant belong in a ballroom. A kiosk that guests tap and share belongs on the edge of a dance floor.
Who's in the crowd? Grandparents and older relatives want something in hand and appreciate an attendant's guidance. A crowd in their twenties wants the photo on their phone in ten seconds.
If the honest answers point in both directions, formal portraits and a party, that's not indecision. That's the most common event we do.
Why many events want both
The pattern we see most, especially at quinceañeras and weddings: the Luxelle print booth runs during the reception for the portraits that matter, the couple, the court, the family, the table of friends, and SnapBliss takes over once the dancing starts, so the party has its own booth delivering to phones while the formal keepsakes are already in hand.
Two experiences, one night, each doing the job it was built for.
A note on corporate events
For corporate events and brand activations, the choice is usually made by objective rather than mood: prints for a recognition night or gala, digital for a launch or pop-up where shares and leads are the goal. And for activations specifically, a branded print takeaway can be added to a SnapBliss setup - a corporate-only option, quoted through our proposal process. See corporate and brand options →
